Publishing Methods

The application provides two publishing workflows that serve different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable.

DIRECT POST · video.publish

Publish through TikTok

The Direct Post workflow submits prepared video content using TikTok's Content Posting API. The user reviews the available settings before submitting.

Posting can be restricted by app review status, account eligibility, permissions, privacy choices, and TikTok's API response.

UPLOAD · video.upload

Upload for later editing

The upload workflow sends the video to TikTok so the creator can continue in TikTok, make available edits, and complete the publishing process there.

An upload is not proof that a video has been published publicly.

BEFORE SUBMISSION

Review your content

Confirm that the correct video and intended settings are selected. Only submit content you have the right to publish.
